Management Report 2001

What can I say - BLINDING ! - Another Isle Of Wight Venture truly come and gone.

The highest number of "happy campers" to date.  The Management found you lot a very daunting experience, but we all came out …….. The other side fully-fledged (and knackered).

Thursday started with Reading and Centurions turning up in the very early hours , followed swiftly by Hillbillies who camped in the usual "tidy" style.  Soon the camp was buzzing with more "happy campers", all eagerly waiting for the festivities to begin.  7pm saw the only official part of the camp, the Opening Ceremony, followed by a Leaders meeting and then the 70's disco.  After everyone had danced the night away to the sounds of 60's and 70's classics, those who were still able to stand, walk and talk, went down to the campfire which was hip and happening.

Friday - Water Activities had two drawbacks, lack of wind and Lucy's aversion to the sea.  Jenga wsa smashing, quite literally, when "Vicky's bloke" knocked it down.  Thanks to Pisces for bringing it along.  The Bouncy Castle was enjoyed by one and all thoughout the weekend, being visited by a steady stream of people.  Friday night was 'Games and Race Night' with a fancy dress theme of Tarts and Vicars.  What a lot of plonkers you are, and still mad enough to take part in the games….. Twister was stupendous !  Games night held the camps first gay lesbian marriages between Alan and the "tall guy" (who are you ?).  Cheers to JJ and Kev for that.

Saturday - water fights at Blackgang Chine.  Adam from Dolphin Raiders really knows how to make a splash down the Water Slide.  Elliot was seriously tied down in the Sheriff's Office, with Adam, Dave and others shooting their load at him with their huge …. Water pistols.  Karaoke was a true howler from Guns and Roses by the Hillbillies to Barbie Girl from Anaconda.  All your sing was beautiful guys !

Sunday - Judo, rifle shooting and footaball was quite an energetic day for you all.  A few sober people stuggled from their tents to partake in the morning activities.  Headhunters was a blast, with camouflage from shaving foam, to white boiler suitss, to doggy outfits.  Again a good laugh and enjoyed by all.  The final disco was the end to a perfect camp.  So much FUN and so much friendship (ahhhhhh!).  The award ceremony for the memorable characters of the camp was followed by a group photo and Steve's (Lofty) usual streak through the hall.  The Camp Fire will be remembered for the pasties and pass the Refresher.  Cheers to "Daddy" for hellping me steal more wood.

Monday …. The crack of Dawn … the darkening from the east.  And as some were awakening, the tradition of breakfast after the all night celebrations was held this year at Lizzie's Diner.  Adams got your T-Shirt Steve !

We would like to thank all you great guys and gals for coming to make our event so spectacular.
